Location

Queens Court Barns is set in the heart of this historic market town of Much Wenlock, recently ranked in the top 20 most sought after villages and small towns in England and Wales by Timesonline and Savills estate, Savills and ranked as the second most desirable area to reside in as polled by the Daily Mail newspaper. It is the home of Dr William Penny Brookes who inspired the modern day Olympics. The town originated around The Priory which was established prior to the Norman Conquest and is surrounded by some of Shropshire’s most outstanding natural countryside.

The town centre features many fine period buildings, in particular the half timbered Guildhall which houses the weekly market. The development itself is situated off the town's main thoroughfare which features a number of shops, a small supermarket, delicatessen, tea shops, an art gallery and a noted book shop. In addition there is a thriving primary school, secondary school, medical practice, parish church, public houses and hotels.

A few minutes walk away from Queens Court Barns is Wenlock Edge, a rare and special landscape stretching for 18 miles through Shropshire. The thickly wooded limestone escarpment offers dramatic views, dappled paths, historic quarries and limekilns as well as rare flowers, mammals, birds and insects.

A short drive from Much Wenlock are the towns of Shrewsbury (approx. 12 miles) and Telford (approx. 8 miles) which between them offer a wide range of retail and leisure facilities that include High Street shopping, large shopping centres, retail parks, a major exhibition centre, sporting facilities, bowling, skating and multi-screen cinemas.
